Ducks duke Preds in Nashville

The Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks squared off for a battle for first place Thursday night in Nashville.

Unfortunately only one team showed up as the Ducks throttled the Preds for the first two periods of the game eventually taking a 4-0 lead going into the third period. The tone of the game was set early when the Preds looked sloppy and sluggish. The exclamation point to the tone came when Pekka made a mistake handling the puck in front of the net which ultimately lead to a shorthanded goal for the Ducks.

The Preds came out in third period and decided to prevent a shutout by scoring two unanswered goals to finish the game.

It looked like one if those games that happen. The Preds could not get anything going and fell behind quickly on the scoreboard and momentum. However, make no mistake about it. The Ducks looked like a better team and it appeared the Preds could not handle the Ducks size and physical play. The Ducks take over 1st place in the NHL and they deserve it.

The Nashville Predators take on the Ney York Rangers on Saturday where they look to get the home stand back on the right track.

Game Notes:

-Pekka first game back after being out with a lower body injury since early January.

-Preds winning streak at home snapped by Ducks.
