SUNDAY’S RESULT

PHOENIX 2, LOS ANGELES 0; Kings lead series 3-1 
Phoenix forward Shane Doan scored two goals and goaltender Mike Smith made 36 saves to record the shutout as the Coyotes won 2-0 to stave off elimination.

CAPTAIN COYOTE
Phoenix captain Shane Doan posted his second career two-goal playoff game. This was his second game winning goal of the 2012 playoffs in 15 games. He had two game winners in 39 playoff games prior to this season.

SMOOTH ROAD
Mike Smith improved his road record in these playoffs to 5-2 with a goals against average of 1.11 and a .964 save percentage. All three of his post season shutouts have come away from Phoenix. 

TRULY SPECIAL TEAM
The Coyotes penalty killing unit killed off all six Kings power plays Sunday. Phoenix has not allowed a single goal on any of the 27 power play attempts they have faced on the road in these playoffs.

DID YOU KNOW?
Sunday was the first time since January 12th, 2012 that the Kings trailed at home after the first period.
