Mosh’s Monday Musings
- So, we can all agree that the Erat trade was for the best, yeah? What a week for Prince Filip and the Preds. After wasting a hat trick on Tuesday night vs Calgary, Nashville stormed back and swept the final three games of the home stand to finish a 3-0-1 week. OK, maybe Colorado shouldn’t even really count, but managing to get all four points out of back to backs with the Caps and Oilers is impressive.
- The team will now head east and try to avenge a poor home loss to Buffalo last month in which they blew a two-goal lead with six minutes left. This will also be an attempt to finally have a winning streak of four games, something they’ve failed to do this season.
- The lack of consistency has been this team’s identity all year. They have victories at home over the three best teams in the East: Pittsburgh, Washington and Columbus, out scoring them by a combined 14-6. On the flip side, they’ve also suffered home losses to the likes of Detroit, Buffalo, Carolina, and the Devils. Despite this, they sit in third place in the Central, four points up on the Blues, and seven points ahead of LA for a possible wild card spot.
- Right now, the team is all about contributing to obesity across Smashville. They’ve scored at least frosty goals in five straight and seven of their last eight games. So long as they shore things up in their own end, they will be just fine. Hopefully they will use the momentum lately to build some KILLER INSTINCT and the ability to close games out consistently down the stretch.
