I was born just off Exit 117 on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey into a NY Rangers household & began attending games at Madison Square Garden as soon as my Dad could sneak me in. In 2002, I moved to Nashville to complete my Education at Middle Tennessee State University & became an instant Predators fan (in the Western Conference). I became a Predators season ticket holder in 2003 & held seats in the infamous Section 303 (L 9-10). After graduation, I began my first media assignment with ESPN 106.7 The Fan & remained a part of the stations coverage until it switched formats in 2009. I joined Sports Radio 560 as Nashville Predators correspondent & remain in that position today appearing on the Thom Abraham Show & The Nashville Predators Pregame Party. During the first half of the 2011-12 season, I served as Flagship Producer for The Nashville Predators Radio Network. I was also Producer/Co-host of Slap Shot Radio with Paul McCann & Pete Weber from 2009-2012 & served 1 season on the Bridgestone Arena engineering & change over crew (I have been in every part of that building).

I was born and raised just outside New York City and moved to middle Tennessee 20 years ago, just before the Rangers won their first Stanley Cup in 54 years. I started watching hockey at age 7 and quickly realized that my physical limitations (I’m generously listed at 5’5″), wouldn’t allow me to even dream of a pro playing career.
I’ve played between the pipes for 15 years of beer league hockey and couldn’t be happier for it…… aside from tearing the labrum in my hip.
I look forward to contributing to the relaunch and success of Predneck Nation!

Born in Nashville and grew up in Smyrna, Tennessee. I started watching hockey when my father would take me to Nashville Knights (ECHL) games at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. It was a New Years Eve tradition for me and my father to go to a game. During this time as a young lad I played hockey games like Blades of Steel. To this day I play the NHL series on the PlayStation 4 where I routinely make people from other countries and to the north curse me because they can’t believe a (hillbilly, redneck, inbreed, and etc..) beat them in anything hockey related.
I watched the Nashville Predators birth in Nashville during 1997. I became an instant fan and have grown into a Predators fanatic over the years. I am not a perfect writer and you will probably find grammar errors, typos, and imperfections in my articles. However, you will also find truth and non-regulated opinions concerning the Predators.
I currently reside in the middle Tennessee area where I look forward to watching hockey and the Predators fan base continue to grow.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I came into this world with the San Jose Sharks (almost literally). However, I come to Predneck Nation with no allegiances. To paraphrase the great Jeff Marek, I am not as much a fan of one team as I am of the people involved in the game.
I graduated from The University of California, Santa Cruz in 2012 and have worked in technical end of the broadcast media industry since I was 19. Now living in Austin, TX, I am a web developer and musician who happens to be a hockey maniac…living 3 hours away from the closest NHL team.
Aside from the litany of NHL games playing at my home, I stay involved in hockey through the local street hockey scene here in Austin. Our weekly games are played by transplants from across the US and Canada, making it easy to stay up to date with whose team had a bad week. In all seriousness, it is that sense of community which keeps me as involved in hockey as I am. Seeing the game flourish in Northern California and Central Texas reaffirmed that and I am excited to discover the same in the Nashville hockey community.
(A) Writer – Jonathan Shaffer
Since 2005, Jonathan Shaffer has been one of the most respected members of the
Nashville sports talk radio community. Ranging from his guest appearances on national radio and television, his tenure at ESPN 106.7 The Fan and his various hosting roles at Nashville’s Sportsradio 560 WNSR, Shaffer has seen – and talked – about everything in Nashville sports for close to a decade.
He is most recognized for his efforts at ESPN 106.7 The Fan, having worked with the likes of Pete Weber, Boots Donnelly, John Dwyer, the late Bob Bell, former Tennessee Titans president Jeff Diamond, and, most notably, with Thom Abraham. Shaffer was the program director at 106.7 The Fan from 2005-2008. He hosted the station’s Titans, high school football and NASCAR coverage and served as a co-host/producer on a variety of programs. Additionally, Shaffer co-hosted a show with Titans safety Chris Hope for three years.
Shaffer’s national recognition includes appearances on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” (ESPN Radio), “2 Live Stews”, ESPN.com and ESPNEWS.
His efforts at Nashville’s Sportsradio 560 WNSR include guest hosting on “The Thom Abraham Show” and co-hosting “The Men’s Room”.
Shaffer’s hockey credentials are well-earned, having covered the Predators during some of the organization’s seminal moments; the signing of Paul Kariya, the trade for Peter Forsberg, the tumultuous sale of the franchise and its rise to Western Conference prominence.
Shaffer, a western Pennsylvania native who grew to love hockey during Mario Lemieux’s ascension, is extremely excited about partnering with Predneck Nation, serving as a co-host with “Crazy” Charlie Saunier on Predneck Radio and as a feature contributor on the website.
“This is the perfect situation,” Shaffer says, “getting to talk and write about hockey, one of my favorite sports. Having previously worked with Charlie and the creators of Predneck Nation, I’m so pleased to be part of such a great product. We have smart, engaging and entertaining content on a variety of platforms, providing a fresh voice for Nashville’s most loyal fan base, Predators fans!”

Born in Kentucky yet raised in Middle Tennessee, I started watching Nashville Predators hockey in January 2003. By the end of the first period, I found myself instantly hooked, knowing it would be a lifetime passion. From 2005-2011, my father and I called Section 303 home (in L 13-14. Charlie was our 303 neighbor!). I was appointed one of the Nashville Predators Ambassadors positions for MTSU, marketing College Nights and other Preds events on campus starting in 2010. I had a love for sports, with a niche in sports writing. My high school years were spent on the newspaper staff at Hendersonville High School, including two years as Chief Editor. Three years after high school, my love for media reappeared, particularly in radio. Currently, I’m the resident hockey correspondent for 4 Quarters radio on WMTS 88.3, MTSU’s radio station. I am also an intern for Gee and Crumpets show at WMTS as well, and plan to have my own radio show (with a hockey segment) in Fall 2012. I will be graduating with an English Liberal Arts degree from MTSU in December.
