Preds G Pekka Rinne injured Vs Canucks

Nashville Predators G Pekka Rinne left the game tonight early in the 3rd period with a lower body injury after a collision into the boards. Canucks F Chris Higgins & Preds D Anton Volchenkov were battling when the momentum carried them into the All Star Goaltender creating awkward contact around the skate area. Rinne made 20 saves on 21 shots before exiting with the injury & was credited with his NHL leading 29th win. Carter Hutton finished the game which the Preds won 5-1 & will probably start Friday Vs Washington. Rinne is currently listed as Day to Day according to teams official Twitter.

If Rinne is out short term, the Preds can call up from Milwaukee (AHL):

G Magnus Hellberg 16 GP 8-4-2 1.77 GAA .933 SV& 2 SO AHL All Star

G Marek Mazanec 23 GP 11-8-3 2.49 GAA .907 SV% 3 SO
-W/Preds 2013-14 25 GP 8-10 2.80 GAA .902 SV%

If Rinne is out long term, GM David Poile will have to find a trading partner to bring in a proven Goaltender or the Preds will have a tough time keeping pace in the highly contested Central Division.
