Preds Leave Dallas With Win, Push Towards Tops In Standings
By Josh @Top6Grinder
The Nashville Predators went into Thursday night against the Dallas Stars looking for improvement in the PK and and PP. The improvement came with two goals on three power plays and limiting the Stars to one power play with no points.
The Predators came out sluggish but quickly starting running on all cylinders matching the Stars blow for blow. It was one of the more fun games of the year to watch with a ton of fast paced action and scoring chances on both ends of the ice.
Cullen, Smith, and Forsberg with the three Predators goals. The only goal for Dallas was after a scrum infront of the net where Trevor Daley found the puck on his stick and put it in over a scrambling Peka Rinne whi had just stopped several shots in the same sequence.
Speaking of Pekka, He was outstanding and the difference maker when the Stars would go insane mode with pressure. Pekka ended the night with 35 stops and a third star of the game. Pekka should have been the first star over Matt Cullen but we won’t go into that.
The Preds go into Saturday night’s game against the St. Louis Blues with a chance to put an exclamation point on the longest road trip of the season. The Blues will be ready riding a seven game winning streak. I am sure the Preds and fans like myself would thoroughly enjoy ending that streak Saturday night and taking back 1st place in the central division.
