Preds Quick Hits From The Crease 3-16-16

By @GreekGoalie35

For the first time in a long while, the Predators got to stay home and watch a couple of their division foes battle for playoff positioning.

The Wild were in Ottawa and gave up the game-tying goal with 7 seconds left, eventually losing in OT 3-2. Over the past 6 days, Minnesota played Edmonton, Montreal and the Senators, but only managed to claim 3 out of a possible 6 points. In fact, since winning their first four games under new coach John Torchetti, they’ve gone just 5-5-1. Unimpressive, especially considering they’ve played just one playoff team in seven games this month. Minnesota still gets New Jersey and Carolina this week before the schedule stiffens down the stretch.

Meanwhile in Dallas, the Stars fell in a big way to the Kings 5-2. Fresh off their thumping of Chicago the previous night, LA scored early and often, eventually chasing off Kari Lehtonen. Dallas continues to struggle defensively and in net, a problem that has plagued them for the better part of two months. Over their last 13 games, the Stars have allowed five or more goals SIX times, and 3 or more in 10 of those.

What to Watch For: St Louis travels to Edmonton to play the Oilers for their final game at Rexall Place, Colorado goes to Vancouver and Chicago will host the Flyers on NBCSN, because every Blackhawks game is on national TV, and every Wednesday game they have is a rivalry. Yaaaaaaaaaawn…..
