The Nashville Predators faced off against the New Jersey Devils in front of an over sellout crowd at Bridgestone arena.
Typing of red, the Preds came out red hot in the first period out shooting the Devils 20-3 and leading 1-0 on a goal from Matt Cullen.
The Devils continued to hang around as the Preds had several great scoring chances but could not put anything past Cory Schneider.
Rinne stopped the Devils from scoring on an unbelievable save that had Pete Weber of the Preds t.v. team yelling to call the police!!! Not to long after the big save from Rinne the Devils capitalized on another power play after a missed shot off the boards landed right on the stick of Steve Bernier who got it past Rinne to tie the game 1-1.
The third period started out 1-1 and both teams had good scoring chances. Again Rinne stood the high ground and kept the game tied. The Preds hit the post a couple of times during the period. Finally Colin Wilson got one in goal late in the third period to make it 2-1. The Devils looked deflated and soon after Craig Smith made them pay making it 3-1. Preds ran out the time clock for the 3-1 victory.
-Rinne has 32 wins the most in the NHL
-Preds are 11-1-0 against Eastern Conference teams at home this year.
-Colin Wilson with 7 shots on net.
-Lineup changes for the Preds to include Forsberg who was moved to the third line??
The Preds finish off the home stand Tuesday night in Smashville against the San Jose Sharks.
